Cool, rainy weather this week has helped firefighting efforts and the Squirrel Creek Fire is enough under control, at least near Jelm Mountain, that we will resume operations in the next few days. We have some evacuated equipment to reinstall, and need to wait a couple of days on the weather that is still rainy to clear up, but then we’ll be back to observing quasars!
Given the relatively poor weather, we didn’t lose much time to the fire in the end. The project will hopefully be able to get results despite the gap in our light curves (brightness vs. time).
I think I’ve had a lot of anxiety this week about the observatory and the current project, which a lot of people are contributing to, and can set some of it aside.

Glad to hear you’re back in business, man.
And you should be glad we’ll be able to visit WIRO during Launch Pad!
Fantastic news!
