I feel like the last time I got to sit down and think about what I was doing was Thursday night, and I guess that’s true. Well more than 24 hours traveling to this remote spot in the mountains of Norway since then, being tired and dazed, and now after an 11 hour sleep I’m sort of getting my bearings. My colleagues went canoeing in a lake a bit earlier this afternoon. I’m just trying to figure out what projects I want to work on this week, with whom, and my priorities. Well, a little blogging can’t hurt there as I’ve got to justify the last hour of web surfing…
First up, 101 t-shirts for scientists, science geeks, and nerds. Some of these are really good and I’m going to buy a few. (Thanks Travis!)
An SMBC cartoon about How Science Reporting Works. Funny because it’s true… (Thanks Russ!)
A nice article about Naked Eye Astronomy, and things to look for. People think you have to have a telescope to enjoy the night sky, which is far from true. What is true that seeing the sky at all from most cities is a bitch these days. Well, if you can get out once in a while to appreciate a dark sky, I suggest you do so. Being able to look up from my yard or even driveway in Laramie and see the brilliant sky is one of the better things about living in a small town. (Thanks Marc!)
Teddy Bear Robot Nurse helps out in Japan:
Bill in works to let the U.S. government seize control of the Internet in a cyber emergency. Yikes. Not sure this is really a good idea.
Go pick your top 10 Marvel Comics iconic panels of all time. I have to say they have a lot of great ones there, but the candidate list seems a bit skewed to me…albeit toward the same titles/artists I like.
