I’ve just spent the day running around between Laramie and Denver collecting my portion of the Launch Pad Astronomy Workshop attendees. I’m really excited. I knew some of the attendees already, and really enjoyed meeting the others. It seems like it’s going to be a very cohesive, motivated group ready to learn. Jay Lake has blogged a little bit about his travel. We had a minor snafu with Nancy Kress, but she finally made it in, exhausted.
I’m pleased to discover I’ve only scheduled myself lightly for day one. Last year I was an insane lecturing superman. This year I grew a brain and cut back by enlisting more help.
There’s always a million details to get straight, and they get done. I am lucky enough to have great help, from co-founder Jim Verley to guest instructor Jerry Oltion to volunteers and staff like Scott Humphries and Nicole Wade. It’s our goal to provide a high-quality experience for professional writers.
On the following days, I plan to blog about the activities and the goals behind them.
