The illness has indeed been bad, and while I think I've turned the corner (I'm feeling guilty about missed work), I still don't know if I'll lecture Monday. I'll decide when I get up.
In the meantime, I've discovered some dangers when you're too sick to work seriously on things. For instance, I finally got around to shopping on itunes. I bought twenty songs in about five minutes! I've already got hundreds of CDs, but the ability to search for individual songs, have a listen, and buy with one click is addictive. No wonder apple is making a killing.
I caught up on some movies, too, and have to admit to some TV weaknesses. I watched: The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Elektra, Rockstar, Tommy, The Pacifier, and several others I can't remember or that were repeats. Yeah, not great movies, I know, but about what I could take this week. As for TV: Beauty and the Geek 2, South Park, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flavor of Love, Aermican Idol, NBA. Some of those are quality, some guilty pleasures. Very guilty. But I know I'm not the only one watching. I consider it keeping in touch with pop culture. Too many smart types hold popular culture in scorn, and they look like idiots on Beauty and the Geek, so there.
