He wouldn’t have been the person I’d predicted to do this, but I am thrilled:
THE actor Dustin Hoffman is to spearhead an initiative to put real science into Hollywood science-fiction blockbusters.
Hoffman, whose fortunes in sci-fi have ranged from the critically praised realism of Outbreak to the mocked killer squids of Sphere, will host events at which scientists and directors will meet to “get it right”.

Are screen writers, producers and directors eligible for Launch Pad? If Zack Snyder had attended, he might have done better with the Martian moons.

Absolutely! Most of them don’t seem too interested so far, but maybe that will change in the future after Dustin Hoffman has browbeat them.

the martian moons were really annoying to anyone with the minimum knowledge of astronomy.
worst than Watchmen Martian Moons was DOOM 1… dont know if anyone played the games back in 93-94… but the first two episodes are set in Phobos and Deimos… complete with atmospheres and even terraformed forested mountains on Phobos!

at least, in Doom 3, theyve set the whole game at Mars, and the planet is very well realized there.
